Two facts about me: I'm Portuguese and I love visiting a place with a
good story. That's why my favorite monument is
Padrão dos Descobrimentos, the
monument to the discoveries, a demonstration of the Portuguese
involvement during the period of the discoveries that led to the
expansion of the European geographical knowledge. This epic monument is
a portuguese landmark, filled with symbolism, that pays tribute to the
various portuguese navigators, cartographers, warriors, colonisers,
missionaries, chroniclers and artists that contributed to these
