Lore Olympus is a romance webcomic created by New Zealand artist Rachel Smythe. The comic is published weekly on the platform Webtoon, and has been since March 2018; making it one of the most popular comics on the platform. As of June 2022, it has 1.1 billion views and 5.8 million subscribers. What makes this webcomic stand out is not only the captivating storytelling and breathtaking art that brings the tale to life, but the way Smythe deals with strong themes of rape, harassment, abuse and trauma.

Who are the main characters?

Persephone

The Goddess of spring. When we first meet her, she is new to Olympian life and is striving to become self-sufficient.

Hades

The King of the Underworld and god of the dead and wealth. He's the older brother of Zeus.

Zeus

The King of the gods, as well as God of the sky and lightning. He's stubborn, selfish, narcissitic, egotistical and a bully.

Apollo

God of the sun, music and prophecy. A burly playboy who is interested in Persephone.

Demeter

The Goddess of the harvest and agriculture in the Mortal Realm. Demeter is the overprotective mother of Persephone.
