Volunteering in Nepal

A two-week training mission in 2016

In 2016, I joined British NGO Raleigh International for a 2 week training mission in Nepal.

I was assigned to assist Raleigh in their support actions for 16 Nepalese youths living in villages in the District of Makwanpur, 80km South of Kathmandu.

A two-week training programme provided the youths with support regarding issues such as:

The overall goal was to help these young trainees to start their own businesses, to establish a stable source of income and to enable them to stay in their villages and not be forced to leave their country.

It was a fantastic and unique experience that I recommend to everybody! Being able to help other people, to share our knowledge and learn with the locals, and feeling very welcomed by the Nepalese people that opened the doors of their homes and let us in for a couple of weeks.
