• What comes back every year and is no picnic ?

  You were born with a uterus ? You are above 18 years old and/or sexually active ? You are based in Portugal ?

  Health organisations do recommend a yearly visit to the gynecologist. Finding a practitioner ready to help and listen without judgment can be quite challenging. Each patient's profile is different and finding someone who will make us feel at ease during this consultation is primordial. Some people have postponed their consultation to a point of putting their health at risk.

• Our proposal

  Unfortunately, for some people those yearly visits are synonymous with judgment, moralizing speech and exposure. For others, they can mean dehumanizing births, painful vaginal exams or inappropriate comments about their bodies.

  As a LBT (lesbian, bi, transgender), larger women, sexually active person have you ever felt overly judged by your gynecologist ? Have you ever felt they wouldn't listen to you or advise properly because of a bias they might have ? Have you ever felt that your gynecologist wasn't responsive to your needs in terms of contraception, fecondation method, management of your pregnancy ? Have you ever found yourself misinformed ?

  Thanks to a collaborative questionnaire, we want to identify gynecologists that are recommended and judged positively by the patients in Portugal. The idea is not to give good or bad grades to doctors but just to find a doctor who would be a good fit to your profile so that you can access health in a care free mood. This concept already exists in plenty of countries and we thougt it was something missing in Portugal.

• What we want to achieve

  We want to help individuals intends to build a list of professionals (family doctors, gynecologists, etc.) whose practices are made by and for their users, a feminist and positive practice. If we can identify just one practicioner that help a patient feel confident while consulting, we will consider this project a success.

• Our inspiration

  A lot of countries already have similar websites to find the right health professional for you. As a fresh arriver in a new town, the question of the choice of a good doctor always ends up coming. When we saw that current project was not existent in Portugal, we thought why not give it a try. Find your Gyn thanks therefore immensely the current projects existing and mainly:
