Where i come from, the Eastern Nigeria, it is the prayer of most people
to florish like a palm tree. It is well known that the whole parts of
the
palm tree are useful. Some species like the
coconut palm have been listed the among the 10 most usedul plants in the
world, According to Purdue University. Most products we use everyday are
derived from parts of a palm tree. below are
the uses of the parts of an oil palm tree:
The Palm Fruits: The oil palm fruit is used for the
production of cooking oils, soaps, lotions hair care products and much
more.
The Palm Fronds: They are used in most developing
countries to make thatch roofs for their homes, they are also used for
clothing and garden fencing.
The Stem: They are made into planks and woods for
erecting buildings.
The Kernel Seed: They are edible seeds gotten form
the palm fruits, they are high in nutrients and are also convertable
into oils that are used for various skin care.
Palm Wine
Palm wine is a tasty drink gotton from the sap of variuos species of
palm trees, like the date palms, palmyra and coconut palms. It is one
of the most popular drink in Africa with enomous health benefits
