Olive oil is a liquid fat obtained from olives, a traditional tree crop of the Mediterranean Basin, produced by
pressing whole olives and extracting the oil.
Croatian Olive Oil is my favourite. Croatia produces its own olive oil, having the perfect climate for olives to thrive in.
The oil produced in Istria is considered by many to be the finest of all. 10% of the country’s olive oil comes from here, with a number of independent producers making as much as 450 tonnes of ‘liquid gold’ a year.
