Cane Corso is a breed of dog, one of the most ancient representatives of the Molossian group, the first mention of which appeared in ancient times. The official ancestors are the ancient Roman fighting dogs used as pickling gladiator dogs.
Currently, the Cane Corso is an Italian breed of mastiff. It is usually kept as a companion dog or guard dog; it may also be used to protect livestock.
