Pamonha
The greatest corn product (and it's from Brazil!)
Pamonha is a traditional Brazilian dish made with freshly grated corn
made into a paste and tightly wrapped around a fresh husk of corn and
then boiled or steamed to cook. It comes in a variety of forms and
flavors and it can be plain, sweet, or savoury (filled with meat or
cheese).
It's especially consumed during our popular Festas Juninas (June
Festivities), when we celebrate rural life through typical clothing,
dance and food (pamonha is a definite must!).
