About Trademark on the Sound of a Motorcycle


On February 1, 1994, Harley has filed a registration for a trademark of the sound of its motocycles with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) stating the following:

"THE MARK CONSISTS OF THE SOUND OF APPLICANT'S MOTORCYCLES, PRODUCED BY V-TWIN, COMMON CRANKPIN MOTORCYCLE ENGINES WHEN THE GOODS ARE IN USE."
