Arizona has some of the largest trophy elk in the United States. Due to the various seasons, terrains, and unit structure, elk hunting in Arizona requires a specific skill set depending on when and where you are hunting.
The seasons are broken up into 3 types, each occuring at different times of the year:
The rut is the mating season for Elk. The bulls will bugle and protect their harem of cow elk. During this time they can be easily called in with a bull elk call or a cow elk call.
Post-rut, the bulls are less vulnerable and will make their way in groups to remote areas to recover from the rut.
