I am a psychologist and founder of a support club for Ukrainian women
AIDcircle.
In the club we will develop new skills together. We will learn to live
anew in new conditions. Together!
It is not enough to just have a goal. You need something more. The more
plans you have, the more confidence and perseverance you will show. We
often start to do our best when we know that someone is relying on us, be
it family, friends, clients, or audiences.
In fact, each participant receives a team of 4-6 equal people who are in a
similar context and pursue similar goals. Discussing the problems and
tasks of one participant, everyone gets insights and works out their own
tasks. Experience in a mastermind group accumulates 5-10 times faster than
alone. At the same time, group commitments are very supportive of the
motivation of the participants, not letting them give up halfway.
Why is it useful?
Motivation
Everyone makes commitments for the next two weeks to the other
participants and reports on progress at the next meeting. You definitely
don't want to be someone who hasn't progressed towards their goals. I
noticed that with a high probability I complete the tasks that I
submitted to the mastermind. I put off going to the dentist for six
months, and went after I made a commitment to the group.
Feedback
Each participant has an allotted time - hotsit, for example, 15 minutes
to talk about progress, set goals and ask for advice. During this
segment, all the attention and intelligence of each of the participants
is directed to your tasks. You can get help, an outside perspective, or
learn how to improve your approach.
Resources
Each member has a different skill set and network of contacts. These
resources can help you make progress and are shared within the group.
When I decided to improve my spoken English, I immediately found a tutor
on the recommendation of a member of my group. And when I was looking
for a program for managing personal finances, I used the experience of
other participants.
