Tribolonotus gracilis are found in New Guinea island in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. They live in the humid, tropical forests of the region and have also adapted to live in human-populated areas. As a nocturnal, semi-fossorial species, it spends most of its time underneath forest debris such as fallen logs, leaf litter, etc. However, due to deforestation, it has also adapted to living on coconut plantations.
