Craftcycle Crochet
Reduce, Reuse, Craftcycle
Bags we get from the grocery store can be reused by turning them into
yarn. The yarn can then be used to make all sorts of projects like the
yoga mat bag (pictured left), a wine bottle carrier (picture right), as
well as many other things like coasters, soap dishes, outdoor mats, dish
scrubbers, outdoor sleeping mats, plant hangers, reusable totes, and
more!
Once you learn how to make your own
plarn (plastic yarn), you can use any crochet pattern - simply replace the yarn called for
with your newly made plarn!
Family and friends will be happy to donate their used grocery bags for
your craftcycle projects. This means you save lots of money you
might normally spend at the craft store, but still get to enjoy
crcoheting to your heart's desire!
The even bigger perk? You are helping repurpose the
100 billion plastic bags
that pass through the hands of consumers each day in the U.S.
