Costa Rica

Experience Costa Rica from volcanoes to surf spots

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a country in the heart of Central America famous for its national parks, lush green rainforests and diverse range of wildlife. In fact, the country has been described as “the most biologically intense place on Earth” by National Geographic, which is pretty cool! You also won’t find a country with more friendly people. The locals of Costa Rica are known to have a super long life span and an extremely happy & healthy lifestyle, so you can see why we love this country so much! Fun fact, the term “Pura Vida“ is often by Costa Ricans which means “pure life” , so have a go adding that to your dictionary on your travels there. The top things to do in Costa Rica to tick off your bucket list are; hang out at the volcanic hot springs, release your inner Tarzan zip-lining through the rainforest, get up close and personal to wildlife (especially lots of sloths!) and test your surfing skills. The type of place where you'll never want to leave!

Costa Rica Waves

Why Surf in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica offers almost everything a surfer's heart desires. The beginner-friendly beach breaks on the west coast are ideal for learning to surf. However, with the right tide they also provide steep walls for advanced surfers. At the same time, most point breaks at high tide are nothing to worry about, even for intermediates. From beach to point to reef breaks, everything is represented in Costa Rica and is rounded off by two world-class spots: Pavones in the southwest - one of the longest lefthanders in the world - and Salsa Brava in the southeast - a perfect righthander breaking over the country's only living coral reef.

Vulcano

Here volcanoes lined with cow pastures merge seamlessly into dense jungle, which then ends on a picturesque, mostly black sand beach.

Sloths, toucans, dolphins, jaguars and many other exotic animal species are also native here. They are easy to marvel at in one of the many national parks, but they can just as easily hang over your own beach towel after the surf session.

Sloths

The lifestyle of the Ticos - that's what the Costa Ricans call themselves - is characterized by smiles and two simple words: "Pura vida!"

This saying works for all occasions, whether as a greeting, to the question of how the food tastes or what the waves are like.

Pura vida is an attitude towards life that is simply fun!
