Mriya

The Antonov An-225 Mriya* was an airlift and strategic cargo aircraft designed by the Antonov Design Bureau in the 1980s. This was the largest aircraft ever made, capable of lifting and transporting rockets and ultra-heavy loads.

A number of records were held by Mriya, including the heaviest aircraft ever built and the largest wingspan of any operational aircraft. There is no second Mriya. Only one copy was built.

And...💣 in March 2022 during the russian attack on Ukraine, it was completely destroyed with no chance of recovery.


*Mriya is the Ukrainian word for dream.
