Bacota is a part of a unique area with endemic flora and fauna called
Podilsky Tovtry.
Millions years ago there was an ancient see with different types of
primitive life – a kind of coral reef. The remnants of that coral reef
formed rocks that we can observe along the banks of the Dniester
River. In our opinion the best way to see this natural beauty is from
water.
Due to low soil productivity on Podilsky Tovtry the agriculture
hasn’t developed intensively. Therefore a lot of species of endemic
plants, insects, bats, birds and fishes saved.
Today this area is included to
the National Nature Park – Podilsky Tovtry, and gets protection from human activity.
