Due to those short stumpy legs and long, almost cartoon like bodies, the Dachshund is one of the most recognisible dog breeds in the world.

These little puppers can be a loving, loyal and fun addition to any family.

However don't be fooled by their cuteness, with their sweet faces and big puppy dog eyes they know exactly how to manipulate any unsuspecting fool to get that additional treato!!!
🤣

Origins

The name dachshund is of German origin coming from the words Dachs (Badger) and Hund (Hound dog).
As the name suggests these dogs are hunting dogs, due to their short legs and long bodies they were used to go down badger holes to force them out. They were also used for hunting rabbits and rats.
