Final Fantasy is a Japanese Role Playing Game (JRPG) series and franchise created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, and developed and owned by Square Enix.

In this franchise, there are 15 main-line games. You may wonder if you need to choose a specific place to start, or, if you need to play every game in order to understand the story. The great news is, you don't!

All you have to do is figure out, What's your fantasy? If you're looking for a love story, you can find that in almost any entry. Looking for war? Try Final Fantasy VI or Final Fantasy XII. Want to play the best card game of all time? Final Fantasy VIII is the one for you. (Shoutout to all my Triple Triad fans!)

Many people regard Final Fantasy VI, VII, and X, as the greatest games in the franchise, and for good reason. VI is a classic, with a tale well before it's time. VII was a revolutionary success for the franchise as a whole, marking the series' first PlayStation 1 game, and a story for the ages. (Ever heard of Sephiroth?) X, similarly to VII, was an epic forary into the power of the PlayStation 2, marking the first game in the series to be fully voice-acted, and what many fans regard as the greatest love story in the series.

No matter what you're looking for, the Final Fantasy series has it.
