The Importance of a Good Night Sleep

What is sleep and why is it important?

Sleep defined in simple words by Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is a natural temporary state of rest during which an individual becomes physically inactive and unaware of the surrounding environment and many bodily functions (such as breathing) slow.

As stated by the Sleep Foundation, sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to recharge, leaving you refreshed and alert when you wake up. Healthy sleep also helps the body remain healthy and stave off diseases. Without enough sleep, the brain cannot function properly. This can impair your abilities to concentrate, think clearly, and process memories.
