What makes this mammal the greatest predator in the ocean?
While there are many magestic sharks that swim throughout our oceans,
the great white is one shark that is not to be messed with. Other
popular sharks are the Hammerhead, Tiger sharks, and the infamous
Megladon that existed during the dawn of the dinosaurs.
Besides its teryfying rows of razor sharp teeth and ability to detect
blood in water, one part per million, what else should you know about
these oceanic hunters made popular by the movie Jaws?
- Sharks are always swimming. Even when they rest, they are crusing the ocean floor, just at a slower rate
- The giant beasts, that can grow upward of 20 feet, can swim up to 35mph
- Female Great White Sharks outweigh and outgrow their male counterparts
- While Great Whites mainly feast on tuna, sea otters and sea lions, they have been known to attack humans (most of which were not fatal)
