Trekking - The Lycian Way
Let's go hiking in Turkey!
"ONE OF THE TEN MOST BEAUTIFUL LONG DISTANCE HIKES IN THE WORLD"- Sunday Times
The Lycian Way is a 500km long footpath stretching from Fethiye to
Antalya. The Lycian Road is described in historical documents as a
transportation system of paths connecting the 45 known city-states of
ancient Lycia. This walk combines the best of Turkey's unspoiled
mountain scenery, with the chance to explore little-visited ancient
ruins along the way. The Taurus Mountains offer soaring limestone peaks,
sheer cliffs, deep valleys, secluded coves, rich flora and fauna and the
breathtaking panorama of the pine forests meeting the sea!
Although it takes over forty days to complete the entire route, walkers
can choose much shorter sections. Pensions and hotels can be found along
the trail, but in isolated areas, you must rely on village houses or
camping.
