Chinese
astrology has a rich history of more than 2,000 years.
The zodiac animals are believed to influence personality, career,
compatability, relationships and wealth.
There is an amusing legend about the origin of Chinese zodiac. The Jade Emperor wanted to select 12 animals to be his palace guards. He wanted the Ox 🐂 to be the first for its honesty and diligence, but surprisingly, the smart Rat 🐀 covertly hid on the Ox's back and occupied the first place at the essential moment.
The Tiger 🐅 was crowned next as the King of the Forest and then the Dragon 🐉 as the Lord of the Sea. However, the Rabbit 🐇 won a race against the Dragon and gained the No. 4 spot. The Snake 🐍, Horse 🐎, Sheep 🐑, Monkey 🐒, and Rooster 🐓 all followed. The Dog 🐕 was punished to be the last one for biting the Rabbit; but ultimately the Dog became the 11th. The 12th sign was the one animal tardy to the party, the Pig 🐖, who finally took the last place.
