Mini guide to photography

How to take better photos?

Hello! Welcome to the mini guide to photography, hope you'll learn something new that will inspire you to take better pictures. Remember that practice is the best teacher.

Exposure triangle
The main 3 settings of cameras create so-called exposure triangle. It means that they all are dependent on each other and while changing one of them, it's important to also adjust the others.
ISO
This setting can help you darken or brighten your photos, but remember - the higher ISO is, the more visible digital noise you get! Therefore, make sure to stick to the low values if possible (e.g. 100 or 200). This setting is handy especially in low light places or while shooting at night.
Aperture
By changing aperture you can control how much light goes through your lens. Moreover you can create yummy blurry background or make all details superb sharp. The wider aperture is, the less is in focus. Wide aperture is e.g. 1.2, 2.8. Narrow aperture is e.g. 11, 13.
Shutter speed
With shutter speed you can freeze the movement on the photo or blur it! Ever seen these photos of blurry dreamy waterfalls? This is the setting mainly responsible for such effect. With fast shutter speed (like 1/1000) you can freeze the action what is very useful in sport photography! However, with slower one (e.g. 1/30) the movement is blurred. You may need a tripod for this as it's extremely hard to stand completely still even for a few seconds!
