A plant-based diet is centered on the consumption of vegetables, fruits,
grains, legumes, seeds and nuts. Often people that follow a plant-based
diet avoid animal products, like meat and dairy as well as processed
foods. Nevertheless, the definition is not very strict and somebody
might follow a mainly plant-based diet, with occasional fish, egg and
dairy consumption whereas somebody else might follow a strict whole-food
plant-based (WFPB) diet, that omits all animal and processed foods as
well as oil, sugar and salt.
The important thing is to increase the intake of fresh, seasonal
products and incorporate these in your daily diet!
