Photography then,
Photography now

With the creation of camera phones we take photos every day, which makes it hard to realise just how rare photographs were until fairly recently.

The first photograph ever taken is by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, it is 190 years old and the whole process took about eight hours.
In 1839 American photographer Robert Cornelius took the first ever selfie. He removed the lens cap, ran into the frame and stood still for ten minutes, before returning the cap to its position.

Nowadays taking a selfie is just as simple as opening 'camera' on our phones and 'snap!', it's done in a second! How cool is that?!
