In Scotland, mountains with a height of over 3000 feet (914.4m) are called Munros. These are tackled by thousands of hillwalkers per year as they are one of the best ways to catch stunning sights of our bonnie landscapes from a spectacular viewpoint.
Reaching the summit of a Munro is no mean feat, and some avid climbers have made it their mission to conquer all 282 Munros – this is what is known as 'Munro bagging'. This hobby that was first popularised in the 1980s, and has since seen an influx of determined individuals attempting to get as many as they can under their belt.
The Munros vary in their difficulty, with some being considered relatively easy in terms of their trail to the top, others involve a fair degree of scrambling or even rock climbing to reach their peaks.
