Kickboxing is a Japanese mixed martial art. Some people describe it as
being a more modern version of Muay Thai, a traditional martial art
form, which has originated in Thailand.
In fact, Kickboxing combines a series of fast-paced techniques, both
by kicking and punching, which were adapted from martial arts such as
Karate, Muay Thai and Boxing. You have different grades, from beginner
(white belt) to proficient (black belt), and you can choose if you
want to compete.
Kickboxing became more popular in the West after 1974, namely in the
United States of America, with its first ever World Championship being
hosted there.
Nowadays, Kickboxing is practised all over the world, by people of all
ages and backgrounds; tall or short, male or female, anyone can do it!
That's right, boys: women are fierce Kickboxers!🥊🥊
