do you enjoy reading? do you feel like female authors should get a greater role in the literary canon? every week we tackle another female author - both internationally acclaimed and lesser known. at the moment, our weekly meetings take place every friday at 8pm via zoom. of course, that's the ideal moment to pour yourself a glass of wine - to keep the discussions lively! an excellent way to end the working week!

this week we're reading girl, woman, other by bernardine evaristo. in the book, the reader follows the lives of 12 characters in the united kingdom over the course of several decades. the book was awarded the 2019 booker prize and has since received twenty-five book of the year and decade honours, alongside recognition as one of barack obama's top 19 books. it currently features on many prize lists, including winning best fiction book at the 2020 the british book awards and on the shortlist for the women's prize.
