5 Seconds of Summer, or 5sos (pronounced 'five sauce'), are an Australian pop rock band. They made their debut opening for One Direction in 2013. Luke Hemmings is the band's lead vocalist, Ashton Irwin is their drummer, Michael Clifford the lead guitarist, and Calum Hood their bassist. They originally started on YouTube until One Direction member Louis Tomlinson came across one of their videos and helped launch their career. As of April 3, 2002, they took off on their most recent world tour, the Take My Hand Tour. The band took a break during 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic which allowed Luke and Ashton to release their own solo albums before the band started writing together again to work on the upcoming album!
