Let's get baking!

Creating memories that leave your heart and stomach full.

bakester: a term used in the first millenium to describe a female baker

Baking for family, friends, church and strangers has always given me great joy. From a very young age I realised that I loved to experiment with different ingredients in the kitchen. I remember, when I was six years old, my first pancake recipe consisted of a heap of flour and water sloshed into a pan. Since then, I have taken the deep dive into baking and wanted to share my passion (and experimental recipes) with everyone.
One of my most favourite recipes to bake would have to be Ube Brownies, a wonderful after dinner sweet (Ube: an earthy, sweet, nutty, vanilla-esque flavour from bright purple yam native to the Philippines). This recipe perfectly marries the flavour profiles of sweet and salty, capturing both your sense of taste and sight, with its eye-catching purple tone. You can also add white chocolate, pecans or other types of nuts to liven up this recipe. For a detailed step by step guide to making this delicious treat, see this recipe guide.
