Mothman
Mothman is an American cryptid who was first spotted in Point Pleasant,
West Virginia. There were numerous sightings of the creature from November
1966 until December 1967.
Mothman was later popularized by the book The
Mothman Prophecies by John Keel. This book detailed numerous supernatural
events related to the sightings in West Virginia and was adapted into a
2002 film of the same name. Sightings of the cryptid continue and there
was a rash of Mothman sightings in the Chicago area as recently as 2017.
