Iceland is the most sparsely populated European island, with a
population of about 366,000 people in 2020. It is comprised of dramatic,
ever-changing landscapes, from mountains and volcanoes, to black sand
beaches and powerful waterfalls.
๐ป
Reykjavik, the country's capital city, is home to 65% of the country's
population. Various wildlife species can be seen roaming the island,
from arctic foxes and Icelandic sheep, to Atlantic puffins and Icelandic
horses.
๐
Iceland is also a great place to view the
Northern Lights (Aurora borealis), with
the best time for viewing between October and April.
