Roller skating was a very popular activity in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, roller skating re-emerged all over the world. Although the skating scene never completely vanished, it certainly grabbed the attention of many people stuck in quarantine. While roller skating was new to some and inspired by nostalgia for others, the sales of roller skates skyrocketed. Skates were in short supply for nearly two years, thanks to the TikTok platform and social media influencers.
