Fun Stuff
Did you know that the common ferret (Mustela putorius furo) is a domesticated animal that makes a great pet? Ferrets are affectionate, intelligent, small animals who love to play and explore. They are very social and generally love to live with other ferrets, especially if raised together. They are known for their happy, inquisitive nature and humorous behavior.
Characteristics
Ferrets generally grow up to 15 inches and males are larger than females. Ferrets can walk on a leash and harness. They need a great deal of out-of-habitat time daily to exercise and burn off energy. They can be litter box trained as long as you use litter based on their specific health needs. When treated properly, ferrets can bring up to 8 years of joy for you and your family.
