Film photography, sometimes called
analog photography, refers to the use of a transparent
base coated with light sensitive silver halides to capture images.
Film comes in a variety of sizes, including 35mm, 120, large format,
slide, and instant. It can capture images in color or classic black and
white.
Photography, or the capturing of images, has been around in some form since the 18th century, although film as we know it did not come into being until the late 19th century. Although the use of film decreased with the rise of digital photography, in recent years film has seen a surge in popularity within the last 10 years. Roughly one-third of film users are under 35 and some manufacturers are even bringing back formerly discontinued film stocks. Click here for more details.
