Weaving is a method of textile production in which two distinct sets of yarns or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth. Weaving is one of the oldest crafts in the world. Even before weaving was used to make cloth the practice of interlacing plants and branches was used to create baskets, shelter, and fences. Weaving is one of the primary methods of textile production and it can be done by hand or by using machines. Machines used for weaving are called looms. Nowadays weaving has become a mechanized process, though hand weaving is still in practice.
