A non-profit organization with the aim of regaining good neighbourly relations and bringing generations together so that no elderly is isolated or lonely.

Six years ago, horrific news about a number of elderly being found dead at home, years after passing away, created a shockwave in Portugal and prompted a group of friends to found a non-profit to tackle isolation and loneliness in old age.
Today, this organization, with its 150 volunteers, provides weekly home visits to nearly 60 elderly in the city of Lisbon. In six years of existence, the organization has been present for 110 elderly.

How to be contribute to this mission?

  We search for new volunteers every February and October of the year. What we ask for: commitment of one year (minimum), availability to pay weekly visits to your Unlikely Friend, friendliness.
