A painting, and perhaps any work of art, can convey almost any human
emotion in the person who experiences it.
It is not necessarily only the subject matter or technique, but the
viewerβs own contributions of experience,
mood and attitude to the interaction that
creates the art experience. Since we are so different and our own life
experiences are so varied, this almost guarantees that different people
will experience a variety of emotions in their encounters with art.
That is the beauty and
mystery of art. It is a very personal
experience.
