Master of horror fiction

Howard Phillips Lovecraft

H. P. Lovecraft
One of the most captivating and influential American writers of the XX century, better known as a master of weird & horror fiction

His stories are definitely not the ones you would want to read before your bedtime. Wonder why? It has something to do with Lovecraft's writing style you can notice through his detail-rich descriptions of untold "eldritch" horrors, often blended with existential wonder. These descriptions nearly always include his fictional characters confronting the idea of cold, different, and perhaps even actively hostile cosmic universe.

When the story could not look more convincing, writer starts to make you feel as though you've glimpsed the edge of a vast and overwhelming universe full of darkness and terror. One of the best example is his most famous story "The Call of Cthulhu", in which the narrator writes, 'I have looked upon all that universe has to hold of horror.'
