👋 Welcome to my blog, to The girl from afar 👩💼!
These ladies pictured above have come a long way becoming the head of
their goverment in their respective countries a century after women
finally got the right to vote. There are many who have come before them,
who had fought hard and tenaciously for political participation.
Hopefully, there will be many many more after them. But for this to
happen the fight needs to be continued. Leading female politicians are
not the rule, they are the exceptions. Furthermore, female population is
still underrepresented in most parliaments, ministerial and mayoral
seats. The USA still have not had its first female president. The list
could go on...
