The art of drag is a diverse one, and there are many talented queens who have risen to fame via the notorious television show 'Rupaul's Drag Race', but my personal favourites are undoubtedly Trixie and Katya. Not only are they both sickening in their own right, but they also make a great comedy duo on their popular YouTube show 'UNHhhh', where they talk about whatever they want, because it's their show, and not yours.
Trixie Mattel, aka Brian Michael Firkus, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1989 and has been doing drag since 2008. Trixie is a talented musician and performs her own original songs on tour with her band, playing a multitude of instruments including guitar, autoharp and clarinet. She also has her own line of cosmetics, and a huge collection of vintage Barbie dolls. Trixie's explains that her drag persona was heavily influenced by Barbie.
Katya's boy name is Brian Joseph McCook. She was born in 1982 in Boston, Massachusetts, and became interested in drag when studying video and performance art at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She created her Russian drag persona in 2006, inspired by her favorite gymnast Elena Zamolodchikova. Katya was voted Miss Congeniality by fans during season 7 of RuPaul's Drag Race, and later finished as a runner up on RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars Season 2.
