Brief History: The first donut machine came to America in 1920 when Adolph Levitt started selling donuts from his bakery in New York City. By 1931, Levitt was making $25 million a year, delivering to bakers across the country. Fastforward two decades, household namesakes Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts became big competitors in the donut industry. Today, there is a variety of donut options, from the classic glazed yeast donut to cream-filled and flavor-glazed donuts.
