Escape into an Alternate Future
This story is a sci-fi, post-apocalypse adventure, set in 2294 with a steampunk aesthetic. A hive mind of human cyborgs, controlled by a sentient artificial intelligence, control the last of the world’s resources. Matilda Wexley and her Wingmate, Kane Kiddleston, live outside the Plexus within an airship commune known as the Mutineers.
After the freshwater crisis and onslaught of the Artillery Wars, the global population has drastically reduced, forcing the remaining humans to survive on a dying earth. The Citadel is run by a conscious A.I. that controls the hive mind populous through an implant in their brain. Small factions of humans live outside the city, trying to survive the harsh climate, acidic storms, and the persistence of the Plexus who has deemed them a threat to the system.
About the Author
I started writing this story while finishing my Masters degree at the American College Dublin. Ever since I was five years old, I've wanted to write a book. I really love this story and I hope someone can escape into the world I've spent years building.
