Floorball or
floor hockey (internationally unihockey or
innebandy) is an indoor team sport played using composite or
carbon sticks with a plastic vented blade where the aim is to put a
light plastic ball into the opponent's goal. The sport is organized
internationally by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). Events
include an annual Champions Cup, EuroFloorball Cup and EuroFloorball
Challenge for club teams and the biennial World Floorball Championships
with separate divisions for men and women. While the IFF contains 74
members, floorball is most popular where it has been developed the
longest, such as the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia,
Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.
