The Humble Moss
Moss is unlike any plant you've ever known.
Moss collectively provides more carbon offset than all of the trees in
the world. There are over 12,000 species and their ability to
withstand extreme tempuratures and a varied light allows them to be
found all over the world! It's an ancient and amazing plant that
everyone benefits from!
- Moss evolved from algae to be the first plant to survive on solid ground.
- They do not produce pollen or flower, so they reproduce through spores.
- Moss does not have roots, but instead filaments called rhizoids that anchor the plants.
- They can absorb up to 20 times their weight!
