Traveling is exciting because it allows you to meet people from different cultures,
with diverse traditions and distinctive lifestyles. These experiences help improve your
overall tolerance, reduce biases and even decrease frustration. Whether you don't want to travel due to coronavirus concerns, lack of safe or socially distanced ideas, I hope that after reading you feel inspired to travel in 2022!
My name is Kaitlyn, and I love to travel! I traveled to Hawaii, Las Vegas, St. Thomas, Washington D.C...and many more places during the pandemic. I traveled by following these key steps to ensure a safe, affordable, and socially distanced vacation! But before you rush to book those last-minute flight deals, scroll down to read my COVID-friendly travel tips to ensure a safe and satisfying vacation.
Kaitlyn's Tips!
Check with the CDC Website First!
Due to travel restrictions, flights are lower than ever! Thus, making it tempting to book a getaway to the first exotic destination you see. However, while these deals may feel irresistible, you must ensure that you aren't going into a dangerous or highly contaminated area. You can check for the latest travel restrictions on the CDC website. I also love a good deal but not at the expense of your health!
Rent a car and Opt for short getaways to gauage your comfort level
There is nothing wrong with taking a 2-hour drive getaway instead of a flight! On vacation, the goal is to have fun and relax. There are many incentives for choosing to drive rather than fly. These incentives include no luggage fees, you can pick your seat (for freeππΎ), and you're able to connect and build more memories with those around you. So if you are apprehensive about flying, I recommend driving to your getaway instead.
Use AirBnb experiences!
On Airbnb, you can sign up for small group experiences! These experiences can include sightseeing with locals, cooking classes, surfing lessons, and photoshoots! πΈπ€³πΎ
While in Hawaii, I booked a photoshoot with Oahu Photography tour through Airbnb. The experience was terrific because the tour guide drove us all around the Big Island, and I was able to get professional photos. It was also socially distanced, with a group size of 6 people, and by the end of the day, we all became friends! I highly recommend looking into Airbnb to help make your trip a success π
