Fungi! Also known as nature’s greatist chemists. Fungus is a term used to describe the 5th kingdom of life. This kingdom includes mushrooms, yeasts, and molds.
They have so many uses: transforming and cycling nutrients, supporting the immune system of many organisms, decomposing organic material, and the list goes on.
I took a class on mycology (the study of fungus) through Mycologos. During the course I had lots of interesting projects including: attempting to grow oyster mushrooms, making my own mead with honey and yeast, and going foraging in the forest to identify different mushroom species.
