Botanical Resin Art

Preserving your flowers.

A picture is worth a thousand words but a memory is priceless. What better way to cherish those memories than to preserve flowers from your special event? Both fresh and previously dried flowers can be preserved to create truly one-of-a-kind art pieces.

How does it work?

The heads of the flowers are dried in layers of silica gel for anywhere between 3-10 days, depending on moisture levels. For some items that feature more flat designs, a special pressing technique is then employed to ensure the flowers will fit well into the items. Once the flowers are dried, items can be designed and the pouring process begins. Resin is poured in thin layers each day and, depending on the item, can take up to two weeks for it to be completed. After that, it is demolded and a topcoat is applied before it sits to cure for a week, which allows it to fully harden.
