BEES

Bees are important
bee-cause...

They help sustain our environment

Bees play an essential part in every aspect of the ecosystem. As pollinators, they support the growth of flowers, trees, and other plants, which serve as food and shelter for many other creatures, including humans. The ecosystem services that bees provide, i.e., pollination, make them vital for preserving ecological balance and biodiversity in nature.

Bees are facing serious threats

You can make a difference

There are several ways you can play a part in the survival of our pollinating friends: Plant a bee-friendly garden -- some of the most attractive plants to bees are clover, mint, lavender, and orange daylilies. Reduce chemical and pesticide use -- synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and neonicotinoids are harmful to bees. Avoid using non-stick pans -- when heated, non-stick pans release toxic chemicals called polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs) into the air, linked to declines in honeybee and bumblebee populations. Create a bee bath -- fill a shallow bowl with clean water, adding stones that break the water's surface.
