New Guinea Singing Dogs

New Guinea Singing Dog

Overview
The New Guinea Singing Dog (NGSD) or New Guinea Highland Dog is an ancient lineage of dog found in the New Guinea Highlands on the island of New Guinea. Once considered to be a separate species in its own right, under the name Canis hallstromi, it is closely related to the Australian dingo.

Characteristics

Personality

New Guinea Singing Dogs are active, intelligent, and independent. They bond with their humans and happily show affection. But they don't have the same eager-to-please attitude most dogs do. And they tend to be aloof with strangers.
